Chapter 150: The Evolved Zombies!

Chapter 150: The Evolved Zombies!

Clementine reached the door and she was ready to confirm if it was a human or zombie that was there.

She peeked through the window blinds that were barely opened, she had trouble looking through the window but she managed to catch a glimpse of what was inside.

She didn’t know what it was but she could swear it wasn’t a zombie because of the way it acted.

It was actively picking up objects and putting them down repeatedly.

Clementine didn’t know what was happening but this couldn’t be a zombie so she tapped the window slightly.

The moment she did, whatever it was looked in that direction and just charged right through the window.

Clementine had to take a step back but the shattered shards of glass forced her to close her eyes; during the moment of blindness.

Clementine noticed that her gun was yanked out of her hand and gunshots echoed.

She opened her eyes and saw that Franklin tried to hit whatever it was but he had missed.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!?" Franklin shouted and Clementine was on guard because she couldn’t even establish visuals on it.

She quickly equipped the pistol in her holster and waved it around but there was nothing for her to see.

"Above you!" Franklin shouted and before Clementine could even react, the zombie jumped right on her, forcing her to the ground.

Clementine struggled and because of this, Franklin couldn’t get a clear shot.

"Stop moving so much, I can’t get a shot away!" Franklin screamed but Clementine didn’t trust his accuracy.

The likelihood that she would be caught in the crossfire was certain and the only person she trusted with her life was Sam.

Clementine managed to kick the zombie off her and this allowed Franklin to open fire but he could swear something was up.

He couldn’t even hit his target and there was no way that this zombie was faster than his bullets but it was definitely faster than the average human.

"We need to leave!" Clementine shouted, the urgency in her voice meant that she understood that this was beyond their combat skill.

The zombie had a strange pattern, it was running in a strange pattern, one that even Clementine couldn’t predict.

"We cannot hide, we need to get this to them so we can complete our mission!" Franklin said and Clementine raised a brow because they had to survive first before thinking about this mission.

"We need to hang back for Jason, he will figure something out... He always does!" Clementine tried to reassure him but her voice showed that she was trying to convince herself as well.

"WAKE UP CLEMENTINE! JASON IS DEAD BY NOW!" Franklin lost it as they tried to establish visuals of the zombie that had gone to hide in one of the rooms.

"Don’t you fucking say that, there is no way that Jason would be dead," Clementine responded but she noticed Franklin’s eyes were fixed on the stairs.

Clementine knew that he would make a break for it if the chance presented itself.

They kept their eyes on the room because they were ready to open fire should it come out but this zombie did something that they could never have anticipated.

The zombie popped out of another room entirely, catching everyone off guard because this shouldn’t have happened.

Franklin turned around but it was too late to react due to the zombie’s speed; luckily for him, Clementine was an excellent shot.

The bullet whistled mere inches from his face and a shot landed on the zombie for the first time.

Clementine was relieved but the zombie had managed to protect its head with the hand.

It could anticipate the projectile of the bullet by how the barrel was pointed at him.

"How the fuck did it get there!?" Clementine was fazed, there was no way that she could keep her cool in such a situation.

The zombie had snuck through the window, clinging to the wall as it went to another room, which it entered through the window.

There was no doubt about it, this zombie was a lot smarter than the one that Jason had initially fought.

Franklin ran forward with the zombie running right behind him, ready to sink its teeth into his skin but it couldn’t.

Franklin did something that he wasn’t proud of and that was running right towards Clementine.

This in turn put Clementine in danger because she couldn’t shoot freely and then Franklin ran around her.

Clementine managed to get a shot but it grazed the zombie’s head as it jumped right on her.

"I’m sorry Clementine but one of us has to make it out of here. The community’s survival depends on us!" Franklin said as he headed for the stairwell.

"Franklin! You bastard!" Clementine was pissed off because she had anticipated that something like this might have happened,

"It’s either you or me..." Franklin said before opening the door but he bumped into someone.

"Is that so, Franklin?" The voice said and it was no other than Jason.

Sam followed the signal and the zombies left didn’t prove to be a danger to him as he disposed of them with relative ease.

Sam managed to enter the building and he knew this was the building because there was a huge sign pointing right at it.

Sam chuckled because it was clear that whoever this doctor was, he had a sense of humour or he was simply that confident.

Sam was willing to play along because he needed to find Delta as soon as possible.

He entered the building and noticed that his environment was clean.

The hallway was not only empty but squeaky clean like it had just been cleaned beforehand.

Sam walked around and had every intention of exploring this space seeing as the doctor went through so much trouble in setting this up.

"What do we have here?" Sam muttered; it was a walkie-talkie and a cassette player with a note saying play. It was like a scene right out of Jigsaw and Sam had every intention of playing along.

He played it and to his surprise, what played was exactly what was said in the walkie-talkie earlier and upon closer inspection.

He noticed that it was the same one that Delta was using.

Sam hated to admit it but the doctor had outsmarted him but it also showed that he had Delta in his possession because if he didn’t then there was no way this recording would exist.

"You have me here now, doctor..." Sam called him out because the doctor had him right where he wanted to so why was he wasting his time?

Sam wasn’t going to waste his time here but he realized that Delta must have seen him escaping or something along the line.

There were so many ways for the doctor to get this recording out of Delta but Sam doubted it was willingly.

"You’re right..." The doctor’s voice echoed throughout the building as there were speakers there.

"Finally! Let us play doctor!" Sam screamed but the doctor didn’t respond.

All that happened was static and a door opened to reveal a man that looked very much like Delta.

"Hey buddy, did you get uglier?" Sam teased but Delta was inaudible, all Sam heard was a growl.

"Hahaha! I guess that was a yes," Sam joked around but the zombie charged right at him.

The doctor thought that Sam would hesitate to pull the trigger but this wasn’t the case.

Sam didn’t know what happened but he was sure that Delta was not a regular zombie.

Delta charged right at him but Sam just stood still, whistling casually as he equipped his shotgun.

"If this was the surprise you had for me, I have to say, it is disappointing," Sam said, ready to let loose from his shotgun to take off the head of Delta.

"Muscle memory, do you know what happens if a zombie has muscle memory?" The doctor said through the speakers and Sam was confused by what he saw.

"I have found a way to create zombies but not just any zombies... The fragment from the meteorite is God’s blessing to us and I have found a way to create soldiers for God!" The doctor exclaimed and Sam rolled his eyes because he clearly sounded crazy. How strong could this zombie possibly be?

"I can advance the evolution!" The doctor exclaimed and Sam heard a gunshot but it wasn’t from his gun that the bullet came from even though the accuracy was way off the mark.

"What the fuck?" Sam muttered upon seeing who was responsible for that attack and it was the zombie in front of him.

Sam stumbled backwards in shock because he began to question how such a thing was possible but that shock was soon replaced with a wide smile.

"Now this is what I’m fucking talking about," Sam shouted, the zombie and him simultaneously fired from the nozzle of their gun but the zombie once again missed but this was due to Sam changing his body language by crouching.

Sam’s bullet on the other hand hit Delta right in the head but Delta managed to reduce the damage by raising an arm even though it blew off said arm and the bullet shards found their way into his head but it couldn’t penetrate his brain unfortunately.

"I forgot to mention that my experiment is incomplete. The muscle memory of a military man is meant to be superior and that is why I need you... Sam. You’re the perfect specimen," The doctor said and the moment he said this, multiple men in military uniform came out with guns in hand and all Sam did was laugh.

"Fucking hell, I’m fighting an army here!" Sam joked but boy was he having the time of his life.
