Before leaving the next morning, Nina Jacobs gave Mordecai Quinn two things.
One was the photograph she had picked up on the mountain.
"This is... a photo of me and my dad. How did you get it?"
Mordecai Quinn had thought he would never find this precious photograph again.
"Atticus and his group dropped it when they fled that day."
Nina Jacobs replied.
"Thanks. And what’s this?"
Mordecai Quinn was also holding a grayish-black stone.
Holding the stone gave him a strange sensation.
"It seems you haven’t heard of it yet?"
Nina Jacobs wasn’t surprised. After all, in her past life, it wasn’t until the second year of the apocalypse that Drakonians learned of the Mystic Ice Core’s existence.
After she explained the general purpose of the Mystic Ice Core to Mordecai Quinn, his eyes filled with shock.

He didn’t know what those things were, nor where she was going next.

Nina Jacobs was already walking out the door.

Therefore, they dispatched a large number of Superpower Users. Although Mordecai Quinn had invited her to join them, she and Wayne Warner still drove a separate SUV, following behind the convoy.
"They’re on our tail now. If we fall behind later, don’t worry about us."
Nina Jacobs said to Mordecai Quinn ahead of them, speaking privately over the walkie-talkie.
"Do you need me to send a few people to help you secretly?" Mordecai Quinn asked anyway.
"No need. Don’t worry, there aren’t many of them."
Back at Meridia Base, Nina Jacobs had already clearly felt someone staring at her.
It was an awareness that came from her Five Senses Enhancement.
Now, she deliberately drove slowly, even letting a gap open up between her and the vehicle ahead.
After the convoy had navigated a few turns on the winding mountain road, Mordecai Quinn noticed that Nina Jacobs’ vehicle was no longer behind them.
"Are you worried about those two?"
Daniel Lewis, who was beside him, asked.
Mordecai Quinn had been watching the SUV behind them for the entire trip.
He and Mordecai Quinn had been through life-and-death situations together many times, and he’d never seen him act like this.
He’d turned his head to look back a hundred times on this trip alone.
"Should we send a few people back to check on them?" Daniel Lewis finally asked, unable to take it anymore.
"No need."
Mordecai Quinn frowned.
She had just emphasized repeatedly not to interfere under any circumstances.
Otherwise, her plan to lure the snake out of its hole would be for nothing.
Meanwhile, Nina Jacobs was forced to get out of her vehicle.
Their car had gotten a flat tire.
"How strange. It was perfectly fine a moment ago."
Nina Jacobs crouched down to inspect the tire.

When she stood up, she found that she and Wayne Warner were surrounded by a circle of people.
There were over twenty of them. Nina Jacobs recognized three of them; she remembered Mordecai Quinn saying they were experts trained by the Ziegler Family.
Zachary Ziegler stepped out of a car.
"You’re the one who hurt my sister, aren’t you? Did Mordecai Quinn put you up to it?"
Zachary Ziegler looked at the surrounded pair, a look of excitement on his face.
’Eleanor has her eye on that man. If I bring him back, my sister will be thrilled.’
As for the woman... Zachary Ziegler sized Nina Jacobs up and down.
’Even in just a T-shirt and cargo pants, he couldn’t miss her slender waist. And her looks were impeccable—not the least bit inferior to his own sister.’
’He remembered Mordecai Quinn treating these two as honored guests.’
’If he could take her back and make her his woman, then humiliate her in front of Mordecai Quinn...’
’He couldn’t even imagine how satisfying that would be.’
"How about this: you come back with me and apologize to my sister, and we’ll call it even. Otherwise..."
As Zachary Ziegler finished speaking, everyone surrounding them manifested their powers.
"Apologize? I’ve been waiting this long, and it wasn’t to apologize to you."
Nina Jacobs said.

Meanwhile, Nina Jacobs waved a hand, conjuring a circular Diamond Shield that blocked every single one of the attacks.
"A Dual Element Superpower User?"
Zachary Ziegler’s face lit up with surprise and delight.
’After all, Mordecai Quinn was currently the only Dual Element Superpower User in all of Meridia Base.’
"Capture them both alive for me."
As Zachary Ziegler spoke, the Gold Spikes in his hands were already shooting toward Nina Jacobs from all sides.
"You’re right. Someone does need to be captured alive."
Nina Jacobs said. ’But before that, I need to take care of these guys.’
"Watch out for the Strength Element Superpower User! Don’t get near him!"
A Speed Element Superpower User clutched his stomach as he leaned against a wall. After shouting this, he coughed up blood and died.
"How dare you kill my men?"
Zachary Ziegler was beginning to understand why Eleanor Ziegler had taken an interest in that Strength Element Superpower User.
At his command, two Wood Element Ability Users summoned dozens of vines to attack Wayne Warner!
However, the vines inexplicably burst into flames in mid-air!
"Her Fire Element Superpower is nothing to scoff at. The three of us will go capture her first," said Dominic Stone, who was beside Zachary Ziegler.
He had originally thought that with Dominic Stone and the other two, victory was guaranteed, but two minutes later, two of the three were already dead!
Zachary Ziegler was shocked and dared not be careless any longer.
"Dominic Stone, get back here!"
Zachary Ziegler yelled.
’He hadn’t even gotten Master Ziegler’s permission to come out today. Dominic Stone and the other two were Superpower Users trained by the main branch of the family, and now two of them were dead.’
Hearing Zachary Ziegler’s command, Dominic Stone immediately grabbed a nearby Superpower User and pulled him in front as a shield.
BOOM!
A Fireball struck the man square in the head. Dominic Stone used the opportunity to flee, but he didn’t get far before two Fire Serpents coiled around his body.
"Let him go! We can talk about this!"
Zachary Ziegler yelled frantically.
But it was already too late. Dominic Stone was quickly reduced to a charred corpse...
Zachary Ziegler cursed loudly.
"Whoever captures this woman alive gets a year’s worth of supplies!"
Hearing this, the remaining men exchanged glances.
The temptation of a year’s worth of supplies was too great, and their opponent was just one person. They all swarmed forward to attack.
Wayne Warner quickly moved to stand in front of Nina Jacobs.
Facing the killing intent in their eyes, Nina Jacobs just sneered, and a volley of Flaming Arrows instantly shot forth from mid-air!
Accompanied by several Fire Serpents and Wayne Warner’s Strength Element attacks, in less than ten minutes, everyone except Zachary Ziegler was dead.

Watching Nina Jacobs walk toward him step by step, his first instinct was to run.
